Two-day event by Symbiosis will cover medical sector extensively.

The Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences (SIHS) will be organising a two-day national seminar on hospital and healthcare management, medico legal systems & clinical research, on May 3 and 4 on its Lavala campus in Pune.

To elaborate on the expected growth of the Indian healthcare sector by 2020, a pre-conference symposium on 'Successful healthcare models' has been structured.

The sessions at this symposium will cover the hospital, pharma, IT, medical devices manufacturing and clinical research sectors.

Sharing information about the seminar at a press meet held recently at Patrakar Bhavan, Rajiv Yeravdekar, dean, faculty of health and biomedical sciences, Symbiosis International University, said, "This year, Symbiosis has also organised a consortium involving the academia and industry experts. This will help to study the healthcare management programmes being offered across universities in India and how it can be further enhanced."

Yeravdekar informed that the district health officer has deputed over 60 surgeons to attend the seminar and the Maharashtra Medical Council has granted 4 credit hours to all the medical delegates (MBBS and higher) and 5 credit hours to the speakers and faculty.

This will be the 15th edition of the national seminar, which will see the introduction of a new concept of master classes, wherein delegates will get an opportunity to interact with the industry experts. The highlight of the seminar will be a talk on healthcare communication, branding and marketing. There will also be sessions on futuristic hospital designing and how to build a chain of hospitals.
